Grammys 2022

The Recording Academy awarded some of the biggest names in the music industry for their work during last night's Grammys.

If you didn't stay up to watch it, and you want to be kept in the loop, you've come to the right place.

Here are some of the best moments that have everyone talking:

1. Doja Cat

Doja Cat and SZA took home the award for Best Pop Duo Performance for Kiss Me More, but Doja was in the bathroom when it happened.

Thankfully she made it back just in time to tell the audience, "I have never taken such a fast pi** in my whole life."

Watch the moment here:

2. Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X took to the stage for a medley of his biggest hits, including the much-talked-about Montero (Call Me by Your Name).

But before he started the performance, a montage played out on screen, highlighting the controversy surrounding the track's music video.

It featured tweets, news articles and even broadcasts from those criticising it.

3. Taylor Hawkins tributes

The Recording Academy paid tribute to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away while on tour with the band last month.

A montage of clips from his time in the band played out over their song My Hero.

Billie Eilish also paid tribute to Hawkins during her performance at the Grammys.

She wore a t-shirt with his face on the front and his name printed on the back.

4. Questlove's Will Smith reference

Questlove made a joke about the Will Smith and Chris Rock Oscars altercation while presenting onstage at the Grammy's last night.

He said, "I'm going to present this award and I trust that you people will stay 500 feet away from me."

Questlove was the artist who won Best Documentary at the Oscars last weekend.

Unfortunately, his moment was overshadowed by the commotion on stage.

5. Top winners

And of course, we have to mention the top winners of the night.

Olivia Rodrigo took home the award for Best New Artist.

While on stage, she paid tribute to her the recording academy and her family and friends.

Meanwhile, Jon Batiste took home the award for Album Of The Year for We Are.

"I believe this to my chore - there is no best musician, best artist, best dancer, best actor... the creative arts are subjective and they reach people at a point in their lives when they need it most," he said in his acceptance speech.

"A song or an album is made and it almost has a radar to find the person when they need it the most."

Silk Sonic took home the award for Song Of The Year for Leave The Door Open.

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars's reaction to the win was iconic.

At the exact same time, they both stood up and started dancing to the track as it played out across the venue.

6. Volodymyr Zelensky's video message

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a powerful pre-recorded speech during the ceremony.

"Our musicians wear body armour instead of tuxedos. They sing to the wounded in hospitals, even to those who can't hear them."

"But the music will break through."

"Support us in any way you can, but not with your silence. Fill the silence with music."

As the video message came to an end, John Legend took to the stage for a performance of his new song Free.

He was joined by Ukrainian musicians Mika Newton and Suzanna Iglidan.

We'll be covering all things Grammys in entertainment on-air across the day, so make sure to keep SPIN loud.
