The technical issue that had caused the temporary Tinder blackout was part of the rolling out of plans to restrict data access on Facebook on Wednesday in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
After the blackout ended it came to light that users had lost their matches, which is scary if you were getting on well with a handsome stranger! Users were not happy!
I LOST ALL MY MESSAGES. WHAT IF I WAS SPEAKING TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE??? COME ON

Hey @Tinder I’m pretty sure I matched with Rihanna just before crash - you’ll have to take my word for it. She’s not appearing in my matches - can you please sort out?
