You should change your pillowcase a lot more often than you actually do.
If you've ever had trouble with outbreaks of spots on your face then how often you change your pillowcase could be why! While most people blame it on a sugary diet or poor hygiene, but this might not be the case.
We spend about a third of each day in our beds, so when you think about it, Which adds up to a lot of time over the week.
Pillow cases can accumulate a surprising amount of dead skin, bacteria, fungus and mites after a single night of sleep, as your hair gathers far more dirt than the rest of your body.
Jordana Mattioli, a NYC-based aesthetician told Bustle.
"Bacteria, oils, and residue from skincare products and hair products all end up on your pillowcase and can absolutely contribute to acne or irritation,"
So to help prevent this from happening, she recommends changing your pillowcase every day, or at least flipping it over to get two nights out of one pillowcase before changing it. While you should be changing your bed sheets at least one a week.
