Looking to have a green Christmas?
Here are all our tips on how to be more sustainable over the festive season.
Not all gifts have to be bought
You don't have to get all your gifts new from the shop. Re-gifting is okay and if you're the creative type why not make a custom gift.
It shows you're way more thoughtful!
Don't use wrapping paper
Save the trees, use old newspapers or even scarfs to wrap your presents this year.
Buy smart
Buying local will reduce the carbon emissions that delivering your gift to your door would cause.
Use LED Lights.
LED lights are more energy-efficient.
Use a timer power strip to ensure the lights are off when you’re asleep or out of the house.
Buy a real Christmas tree
Real tree's are more eco-friendly than artificial trees.
The best option for a tree is to buy a potted tree that is still live. You'll be able to keep it indoors for about a week but will have to then put it outdoors again.
But if one week indoors isn’t enough for you buy a real tree and compost it afterwards.
Zero Waste Decorations
You don't have to buy tree decorations.
You could collect pine cones and use sustainable materials like cotton, silk or hemp to create bows and then add colour with berries & fruit.
Happy Christmas you sustainable queen!
