The Hail Mary
It's a random one but, did you ever wonder what the most popular prayer in Ireland was? Well now, all thanks to the national ploughing championship we know it's the 'Hail Mary'.
Over the past three days, the ploughing championship took place in Carlow.
There was a competition held by the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin to find Ireland's most popular prayer.
Visitors to the National Ploughing championships were able to choose their favourite prayer from a shortlist, which included Our Father and the Rosary.
A spokesperson for the Irish Catholic Bishops said that up until yesterday, Our Father and the Guardian Angel Prayer were leading the way.
"But then out of nowhere, Mary came through, so there's definitely something about Mary".
So there we have it.
