Every year, the world's leading beauty authorities inform us of what's hot and what's not for the months ahead. Previous years, it was all about contouring and HD brows, but this year has a few new trends on the block. Some weird, some wacky and some wonderful, here's just three things you'll be trying in 2017.
1. Ditch the liquid liner
Okay so we spent FOREVER trying to perfect the perfect cat flick eyeliner with your gel liner, but this year, it's out. Instead, we see a shift back to more subtle eye look with a pencil black eyeliner on your waterline, for a smokier effect. Thankfully, this trend's far easier to get right.

2. Glossy lids
We can always trust Kylie Jenner to dictate what's on the up on the world of beauty and if she's on board with glossy lids, I guess we are too. Though not the most practical of trends - in that we're not sure how you'll keep your hair from sticking to your eyelids - it certainly looks cool in pics, as modelled here by Kylie herself. The key here is to find a product that gives you the gloss effect without the stickiness.

3. Crazy Korean techniques
This seems insane but apparently, the secret to long lasting makeup has been right under our nose all along; water. 'Jamsu' is huge in Korea, this trend is similar in ways to baking. So you complete your makeup, douse your face in either baby powder or translucent powder, and then dunk your face into a bowl of water. Yep, you read that right. The powder 'bakes' the makeup on while the water is supposed to seal everything in so that it lasts from dawn 'til dusk. Now that it's making waves on this side of the world, people are reporting varying results, but it's certainly worth a try.
