Ireland's most fashionable mavens (and men) gathered for the style event of the calendar year on Friday; the VIP Style Awards. While we were at home in our PJs keeping up with all of the goings-on on social media, we compiled our best-dressed list. There were hardly any fashion missteps for the event that's getting bigger and more sartorially sharp with every passing year, but there's definitely a few stand-outs. We're beginning to see a shift away from sequins and 'bling' and body-con dresses towards a real appreciation for design and originality.
1. Our very own Doireann Garrihy, for one. Those deep plum lips and the metallic shift dress? Awesome. And congrats on the award, D!
2. Award-winner Suzanne Jackson wore a show-stopping floral number that was just stunning.
3. Holly White wore Irish designer Simone Rocha and made us reconsider the typical parameters associated with red carpet dressing (in that not everything need be flowing and full-length). She looks like an angel.
4. Tara O'Farrell looked every bit the 70s vixen in her white jumpsuit with hair and makeup to match.
5. RTE's Blathnaid Treacy was a sultry goddess in this couture find from Frock n Fabulous - with slicked back hair and smokey eyes.
6. Fashion designer Emma Manley just looked so refreshingly comfortable in a vibrant yellow dress with a floral detail. Also, those shoes are class.
7. Aisling O'Loughlin looked like a queen in the BEST way. End of.
8. Does Pippa O'Connor ever get it wrong? Nope.
9. Louise O'Reilly's classic red dress is Hollywood glamour but her sleek hair keeps it feeling contemporary overall.
10. Michele McGrath's nod to spring was hitting all the right notes.
11. Courtney Smyth changed out of this crop top at the last minute and into a stunning vintage shirt that married perfectly with her sheer skirt. A little bit boho, a little bit Mad Men; very well played.
