New York is famous for having one of the biggest New Years Eve parties in the world and last night was no different, as loads of the biggest singers in the world performed at the annual show in Time Square.
Last nights guests included Niall Horan, Demi Lovato, Fifty Harmony and of course Mariah Carey, who's performance has everyone talking. She was there to belt out some of her biggest tunes as the headliner just minutes before midnight. However, what was supposed to be an epic performance turned into a pure disaster.
Mariah was left embarrassed as she couldn't hear her backing track and was off sync with the music when performing. After recovering from that, during her next song, she point blank refused to sing, blaming technical problems. She finished with 'We Belong Together', but midway through her performance she stormed off stage leaving her dancers, band and fans wondering what was going on.
She has since tweeted to say "Shit happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here's to making more headlines in 2017".
Have a look at her performance below.
