Joe Keery releases public apology
Stranger Things star Joe Keery has released a public apology after a hacker posted racist comments from his Twitter account.
His page was flooded with insensitive tweets however, his fans had an inkling he had been hacked.
Joe tweeted, 'Hey everyone, I was hacked as I’m sure everyone knows.'
'What a bummer that someone would go to such great lengths to spread hate.'
'I want to apologize for the horrible comments that were posted, it was deeply upsetting to me.'

The hacker's tweets
The infiltrator tweeted numerous allegations and racial slurs.
According to MailOnline they even alleged Joe had been, 'molested,' on Stranger Things.

The hacker also targeted Joe's Stranger Things co-star Caleb McLaughlin with racist comments.
A spokesperson for Twitter told Page Six at the time, 'As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised account and investigated the situation.'
'We’re working closely with the account holder to restore the account.'
