Shaughna Phillips on Love Island editing
Love Island winter series star Shaughna Phillips has said the show was heavily edited.
Speaking to Metro this week, she admitted, 'It’s like I was watching something I’ve never seen before.'
Shaughna said the show is a little boring to watch back because, 'You know what happens behind the scenes, and you know the ending.'
She added, 'Also there’s certain parts that have been shown on TV that were kind of completely different to how they happened.'
'Because I know that, I don’t really want it to taint any of my memories that I’ve got.'
She explained that a lot of it has to do with the way the show has been edited, 'The way that they edit the show is amazing.'
'Because when you’re living it, you don’t actually realise it’s going to be a TV show.'
Shaughna added, 'They do actually work wonders because we were very boring sometimes.'
The message for Rebecca
There was a scene in the show where Shaughna helped Callum write a text to read to Rebecca, letting her know that he wasn't interested.
Discussing this, Shaughna said it was a much more light-hearted moment than the show let on.
She said, 'It was just a big laugh, a joke.'
She revealed, 'Me and him were literally crying with laughter the whole time that was happening.'
'It looks so serious! I was cringing.'
'I was thinking, "Oh my god, that girl needs help!"'
Shaughna added, 'I must have said some of the things for them to have been able to chop it and cut it up, but I don’t ever remember saying it.'
'It’s so strange, I just really did think that it would be the only thing that I ever watched, ever.'
'But if someone made me sit and watch a Casa Amor episode, I think I’d gouge my eyes out.'
Meanwhile, Love Island's 2020 summer series has been cancelled.
