Niall Horan has opened up about what it's like trying to make friends in the music industry.

He tells Laura Whitmore on her Castaway podcast that he doesn't have many artist friends.

And the reason for that is that a lot of them have egos.

During the chat, Niall confesses, "I’m not friends with a lot of artists."

"I think there’s a lot of egos in music in terms of subconscious ones where I don’t think people realise that they’re being quite stand-offish."

Niall is very close with Someone You Loved singer Lewis Capaldi.

The former One Directioner admits his friendship with Lewis is very strong.

"My relationship with Lewis and stuff is that we have an unbelievable laugh."

"But at the same time, me and Lewis will have a few heart-to-hearts and stuff."
