Miley Cyrus played alter ego Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series from 2006 to 2011.
She opens up about the moment she realised it was time to move on.

The singer opens up to Elle about her transition from Hannah Montana to Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus.
'The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the f***ing wig on again.'
Miley was 18-years-old when the show ended in 2011.
She explains, 'It got weird. It just felt like... I was grown up.'
The now 26-year-old pop-star recalls another moment that made her realise her time as Hannah Montana was up.
'One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette.'

The artist also went on to talk about her marriage to Liam Hemsworth.
She describes their relationship as, 'complex and modern.'

'And when that isn’t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgement and anger.'
'They try to make and change laws to force it upon you—even if you become pregnant in a violent situation.'
'If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless b***h who’s not capable of love.'
'Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first?'
'If you love yourself, then what? You come first.'
Miley performed at Glastonbury earlier this month however, the journey over was terrifying.
