It turns out Love Island 2021 contestant Mary Bedford previously dated 2017 Islander Chris Hughes.
The pair were spotted out together in London last summer following his split from Jesy Nelson.

An onlooker told The Sun at the time, 'Chris and Mary went out for a slap-up dinner and looked really close.'
'They were kissing and cuddling and were all over each other when they headed out at the end of the evening.'
'They headed off in a cab to the train station together and looked really sweet together.'

While it's unclear how their romance ended, Mary did make reference to a footballer ex during her date with Aaron Simpson on Love Island.
When he told her he was a footballer, she told him that she promised herself she wouldn't date another footballer.

Aaron assured her, "We're not all the same."
Chris used to play football for Gloucestershire club Bourton Rovers FC, so some think she could have been talking about him.
Thankfully, she didn't let her bad experience with footballers get in the way of her romance with Aaron.
The pair shared their first kiss on last night's Love Island and they seem crazy about each other!
