Demi Jones reveals she has thyroid cancer
Love Island winter series star Demi Jones has revealed she has thyroid cancer.
She shared the devastating news with her followers on Instagram last night.
Demi shared a picture of a booklet titled Understanding Thyroid Cancer (Follicular and Papillary).
She captioned the image, 'Hi guys, I got my results today and unfortunately I have Thyroid cancer.'
'The tumour has been removed but I'm now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of my Thyroid.'
She continued, 'I'm staying very positive and I'm a strong girl so I'll be fine, thank you for your love and support always.'
'I'll bounce back stronger,' Demi concluded her post.
The reality star received so many encouraging messages from her followers and friends.
Addressing this, she wrote, 'My phone is literally blowing up!'
'The love has been incredible. I'll keep you all updated on my journey every step of the way.'
'I wish I could reply to all of you. Thank you as always, love Demi x.'
Demi broke down in tears on Instagram Stories last month after learning a lump on her neck could be cancerous.
She said she was told she was fine after her first scan, but she pushed for them to do more tests to be sure.
They tested the fluid and learned it could, 'be potentially cancerous.'
If you're concerned, you can find out more details about lumps and moles on the HSE website here.
We're sending all our love and support to Demi.
