He admitted there are many reasons why he both likes and dislikes the singer.
The Strip That Down artist has since released a statement further elaborating on his comments.
Liam tweeted, 'Guys - I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff but when its your family it’s hard to let it slide.'
'They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn which I responded to.'
'but listening back maybe I didn’t articulate myself as well as I could have.'
'I was saying that there will always be things we disagree on but that I will always, always be on his side.'
'That’s family. Zayn is my brother and I will stand by him forever.'

What did Liam say?
Well, it all started when the singer recalled a time in One Direction when one of his bandmates threw him up against a wall.
"There was one moment where there was an argument backstage and one member in particular threw me up a wall."
"So I said to him, 'If you don't remove those hands there's a high likelihood you'll never use them again.'"

However, he wouldn't name names, so we don't know which band member he was referring to.
But it could only be one of four: Niall, Harry, Louis or Zayn.
Then, host Logan Paul recalled an incident between Zayn and his brother Jake Paul.

This prompted Liam to share his opinion of the Dusk Till Dawn artist.
He said, "There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there's many reasons why I'll always, always be on his side."
Liam said his own parents were, "overly supportive," of him, whereas Zayn, "had a different upbringing in that sense."
"You can always look at the man for where he is and say, 'Oh yeah, whatever, that guy's a d**k,' right?"
He continued, "But at the end of the day, once you understand what he's been through to get to that point, and also whether or not he actually even wanted to be there."

"Listen, I don't agree with any of his actions," Liam said.
"I can't commend some of the things that he's done. I can't be on his side for that."
"What I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life the person on the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you're willing to give them."
Zayn hasn't commented.
