Khloé Kardashian talks Kim's 40th birthday trip
During a chat on The Ellen Show this week, Khloé Kardashian spoke about her sister's 40th birthday trip.
Kim faced backlash online after she boasted about being able to fly her inner circle to a private island to celebrate.
While Khloé understands the frustration, she also thinks her sister deserves to celebrate her 40th the way she sees fit.
The 36-year-old began by telling Ellen that she doesn't know the extent of the backlash.
She added, "But this year is a frustrating year, I get it."
"But also it's her 40th and this is something that she really wanted to do for us, it was such a nice thing."
Khloé went on to say everyone was extremely grateful for the tourism.
"So many people said that we were their first party or guest that they've had in months!"
"And what it's done for them to be able to pay their bills or just do stuff for their family."
She continued, "Just hearing those messages when we were there... We felt really good and we felt so safe."
"And we did it in the safest way I could imagine someone doing it."
"I mean it was such a beautiful experience and I want Kim to focus on just how beautiful it was and what she did for everybody."
"I mean I don't want that to overshadow all the greatness that happened."

What Kim said
If you missed it, this is the tweet that sparked the backlash:
'After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.'
'We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more.'
'I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40'

Many took to social media branding her comments, 'tone deaf,' amid a global pandemic.
One user tweeted, 'I've heard smart people that I like argue that Kim Kardashian is smart and good and it's nice to be reminded that she is, in fact, dumb and bad.'
While another said, 'This is tone deaf and insensitive.'
Those smart people that I like are still smart and great they just have that one thing that they are 100% wrong about and have been very wrong for years.
