Kanye West explains 2009 VMAs drama
In a new interview, Kanye West has explained why he interrupted Taylor Swift's speech at the 2009 VMAs.
He told Nick Cannon's podcast, Cannon's Class, that God encouraged him to do it.
The rapper said that at the time, God was feeding him, "the information."
"If God ain't want me to run on stage and say Beyoncé had the best video, he wouldn't have sat me in the front row."
"I would've been sitting in the back."
"It wouldn't have made it so ridiculous of an idea because I had never heard of this person before."
"And Single Ladies is, like, one of the greatest videos of all time."
"I was only drinking Hennessy because I didn't want to go to the awards show because it was a set-up."
What happened?
Taylor and Kanye have been feuding ever since his VMAs stunt.
In case you missed it, the artist was giving her acceptance speech after winning Best Female Video for You Belong With Me.
Suddenly, mid-speech, Kanye jumped on stage with a bottle of Hennessy in hand.
He took the mic from her and said, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish."
"But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."
"One of the best videos of all time!" Kanye insisted.
Meanwhile, Kirsten Dunst has reacted after Kanye used her face on his, '2020 vision,' campaign banner.
