The singer claimed she and her friend were, '[discriminated],' against by the, 'rude,' staff who refused them entry based on their clothing.

Many took to social media, branding Jess, 'privileged,' for thinking she's above the dress code.
One social media user tweeted, 'If anyone asks what privilege is, I’m just going to point them to Jess Glynne complaining she’s been discriminated against because she can’t wear a hoodie while eating £300 sushi in Mayfair.'

Jess addresses the backlash
Jess has since released a video addressing the backlash.
She told her followers, "I feel I need to come on here and pull up on what I posted yesterday."
"I used the wrong word, discrimination, it wasn't the right word, it was wrong but I wanna highlight the reason I posted what I did..."

She explained, "Basically all I wanted to say is it was very rude and disrespectful the way the Sexy Fish staff were towards me and my friend yesterday and I don't believe anybody should be spoken to like that and that's what I wanted to highlight..."
"I'm so understanding of dress code and etiquette and I 100% understand - listen I have been turned away from numerous places in my life, that's not a thing, that doesn't bother me..."

"What I was trying to highlight was for them so they can better themselves, there's ways of dealing with human beings and being respectful and having manners."
"Anyway let me know when it's safe to come back out," Jess finished.

Further backlash
While many have accepted Jess' response to the backlash, others are not as forgiving.
One Instagram user commented, 'You attempted to use your platform to bring down a restaurant in probably the most difficult time that they’re going to face.'
'Apologise and get on with life hun'

Another added, 'May have been a better idea to message them, email them privately, than publicly shame a business?'
One user wrote, 'Ok if you need to highlight how rude the staff were, did you have a word with the management there at the time or even asked for their head office address?'
'Instead of coming on here slagging them off, you should of gone down those channels first.'
