Oh, he's definitely back (again).
For the first time in fourteen years, Eminem will open the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Back in 2010, he performed Not Afraid and brought Rihanna out for Love The Way You Lie.
He also joined Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg for a surprise appearance at the awards twelve years ago. But tomorrow night, we'll see Eminem back on the stage for the first time this decade.

It's been a big year for Eminem.
The rapper made his comeback in May with 'Houdini,' a divisive hit that pays homage to his 2002 single 'Without Me.' Both songs feature his famous lyrics, 'Guess who's back, back again? Shady's back, tell a friend.'
Since the comeback, Eminem has managed to bag eight VMA nominations including Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Artist and Song of the Year.
He's also up against some of the world's biggest icons in a new category called VMAs Most Iconic Performance. The award pits previous VMA performances against each other.
Eminem's 2000 performance of 'The Real Slim Shady' and 'The Way I Am' is up against Beyoncé singing 'Love on Top' in 2011 and Taylor Swift's 'You Belong With Me' from 2009. Other nominees include
Madonna's nominated for two separate 'Like A Virgin' performances. The first is from 1984, while the second was a performance with Britney, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott in 2003.

Who else will perform at the VMAs that night?
As well as Eminem opening the show, there are tons of artists to look forward to performing at the awards this Wednesday, September 11th.
Chappell Roan has been confirmed, after she angered fans for cancelling European gigs to perform at the VMAs instead.
Katy Perry, Meghan Thee Stallion and Shawn Mendes are all on the line-up as well.

How about Sabrina Carpenter?
Sabrina Carpenter will take to the stage after experiencing a whirlwind of a year. She's dominated the charts with Espresso and Please Please Please.
Fans deemed it controversial for the VMAs to put Please Please Please in the 'Song of the Summer' category but not Espresso.
That's just one of the awards that Sabrina is up for though, as she's got eight nominations total —the same amount as Eminem and Ariana Grande.
Taylor Swift leads the way with ten nominations.
