We're on the edge of our seats as one of the most exciting announcements so far this year has dropped . Could a Downton abbey movie be happening?
Since the last episode of Downton abbey aired rumours have been in circulation that a movie could follow and now these rumours seem to be coming to light after Downton abbey star Jim Carter – who plays Mr Carson – teased that the cast have been informed to keep certain dates clear in their schedule.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain Jim said:
"We've been asked to keep ourselves available for dates in the future,but nobody has seen a script."
"We don't know," he said. "We haven't seen a script, but there's a willingness to do a film.I am sure it will emerge."
At this stage the big question on everyone's mind is will The dowager countess of Grantham Violet Crawley played by Dame Maggie smith return for a film?
Maggie smith did did say at the end of the final season:
"I'm glad it's over, I really am," she said. "By the time we finished, she must have been about 110.
"It couldn't go on and on. It just didn't make sense."
