Best Food To Eat After Your Sandstorm Workout
SPIN South West & Fanta present Sandstorm 2017.
The award winning beach run is returning to Ballyheigue beach on Saturday July 22nd. If you've yet to register, you can do so here!
Once you've done that, it's time to begin training for what promises to be a full run of challenging obstacles - which includes the tyre mound, the net mound and the eight foot wall.
We've put together a list of the top 5 foods that you should eat after your workout, to get you Sandstorm ready!
Eggs
Protein and carbs are two of the best things that you could eat post-workout. Eggs have both of them covered. They're also a great natural source of vitamin D.
Quinoa
Brown rice is fine for the carbs, but quinoa is a good dose of vitamins and nutrients too which are vital. Plus, it takes far less time to prepare. Win win.
Bananas
These are high in the good kinds of carbs. Plus, they're tasty.
Sweet Potatoes
Full of carbs, sweet potatoes contain a variety of vitamins and nutrients, particularly vitamins B6, C, D, magnesium, and potassium. Ok, sweet potato fries count.
Water
It may seem obvious, but failure to hydrate properly is a common exercising mistake. This is necessary to feel good and stay energised.
