Ariana is in her actress era!
Ariana Grande has revealed she could be stepping away from making music.
The pop superstar plays Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming Wicked film, which is out in cinemas the 22nd of November.
The film is based on Gregory Maguire’s best selling novel and hit Broadway musical, which debuted in 1995 and starred Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda and Idina Menzel as Elphaba.
Speaking on Bowen Yang and Matt Roger’s podcast Las Culturistas, Ariana confessed: “I’m going to say something so scary, it’s going to scare the absolute sh*t out of my fans and everyone.”
“I’m always going to make music, I’m always going to go onstage, I’m always going to do pop stuff, I pinky promise.”
“I think I love acting, I love musical theater. I think reconnecting with this part of myself who started in musical theater and who loves comedy — it heals me to do that.”
She added that being a singer entails “constantly reliving that one thing that you wrote the song about,” but that acting “feeds” her differently than songwriting.
“I think that I would love to, in whatever makes sense or whatever roles that we see fit or where I could really do a good job or honor the material,” she said. “I think it’s a lot better for me.”
