Ansel Elgort talks relationships
Baby Driver actor Ansel Elgort opens up about the status of his current romance in a new interview.
He admits he'd like to share an open relationship with his long term girlfriend Violetta Komyshan.
'I want to feel free to fall in love with people and that [option] should be open...'
Ansel and Violetta are high school sweethearts so they've been together years.
They broke up for five months at one point and Ansel couldn't cope without her.
He told E! News, 'I knew something was missing, and I was like, 'Oh, that's love.''
Open relationship
Ansel talks all things romance in an interview with The Times this week.
He explains, 'I'd also like to find a lot more love. It doesn't need to be sexual.'
'It could be done sexually with my girlfriend.'
The Fault in Our Stars actor seems to imply he's already spoken to his partner about this.
'I think we've been pretty clear that I want to feel free to fall in love with people and that [option] should be open...'
'But sexually it can be closed off.'
An explanation & an example
Ansel explains further, 'I'm in love with a bunch of my male friends who I'm not interested in having sex with...'
'So why can't I put the desire to have sex with women aside and let myself have love with women?'
He uses his Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley as an example.
'I love Shailene Woodley and we never had anything sexual and that was great.'
'There will probably be some sort of chemical thing at some point that you can't help...'
'But you just have to be disciplined and not be a f******… We're primitive beings.'
Violetta however, hasn't commented.
